Kynar 500®/Hylar 5000®

KYNAR 500®/HYLAR 5000® are paint systems that outperform polyester powder, urethane, silicone polyester and acrylic coating in every category with better color retention, better gloss retention, and better resistance to chalking. These high performance paint coatings offer protection against weathering, aging, and pollution. Its performance keeps the painted metal looking vibrant year after year.
KYNAR 500®/HYLAR 5000® coatings provide coverage for the most demanding exterior surfaces and are recommended for use in applications when the highest available performance against color fade and chalk is needed.


The resin used in KYNAR 500®/HYLAR 5000® paint systems is one of the most stable and pure of all commercial resins. It resists strong acids, solvents, and reducing agents and is used in several industries, including electrical and electronic manufacturing, chemical processing, pulp and paper, and transportation. Their inherent chemical resistance and high purity make them ideal for application in contact with high purity water, acids, chlorine, halogenated solvents and petrochemical mixtures. The KYNAR® 500/HYLAR® 5000 paint systems are also naturally flame retardant. The strengths of these paint systems make them a natural fit for commercial building applications.

For the first phase of the paint integration, the KYNAR 500®/HYLAR 5000® systems will be available on the R-Loc and Horizon-Loc 26 Gauge profiles. Plans are in the works to expand the use of this paint system to include other applications in the future
